Terms

2D / 3D
2chan uses 3D to refer to both 3D computer graphics as well as photographic material. English sites often use 3D to mean only the former.
Age
From the Japanese "ageru", to raise/life. Means bumping a post to the top of the board here.
Anime
Short for "animation" in Japanese. English usage often refers to Japanese animation only.
Catgirl
Girl with some cat characteristics. This usually amounts to ears and a tail, but not head-to-toe fur like a furry.
Furry
Animals given human characteristics. The term can also refer to fans of this.
Guro
Derived from "erotic grotesque." Erotic imagery using elements like mutilation and excrement.
Hentai
Japanese word meaning pervert. The English usage is different, however, and means sexually explicit animation, comics, or artwork done in anime style.
Loli / Lolita
"A sexually precocious young girl," according to the Oxford English Dictionary. Sometimes used to describe content, e.g. "loli anime."
Nekomimi
Literally "cat ear(s)" in Japanese. It is also the term used for catgirls. English users sometimes shorten this to "neko" while still meaning the same thing.
Oekaki
"Doodle," roughly translated. When referring to a board, it means one where users draw their own images. This is usually done via an embedded Java program, called an applet.
Sage
From the Japanese "sageru", to lower. Using "sage" in the email field of many scripts lets you reply without bumping the thread.
Yaoi
Japanese acronym for media primarily consisting of male homosexual relationships.
Yuri
Literally "lily" in Japanese. Also gets used to mean lesbian containing media.
